Description
We found many fields of beargrass blooming near Two Medicine Lake in Glacier National Park on July 4th, 2017. Beargrass, Xerophyllum tenax, is a type of corn lily that grows in the Pacific Northwest, south to Monterey County, California. The plant is used in Native American basket weaving, most notably by the Hupa people of northern California. This photo was taken on the trail to Running Eagle Falls near Two Medicine Lake.
