Description
Боже, Царя храни! (Bozhe, Tsarya Khrani!) means God Save the Tsar, and is the title of the Russian Imperial Anthem, best known to American audiences as one of the themes) along with the Marseillaise, in Tschaikovsky's 1812 Overture. It seemed an appropriate title for this image, the Chapel at Fort Ross (Крѣпость Россъ), the southern-most settlement of Imperial Russia in North America. Now a California State Park, Fort Ross is located along California Highway 1 in Sonoma County, approximately 90 miles north of San Francisco.
