Description
Hudson introduced the Terraplane in 1932 to replace the company's low-priced model, the Essex. In '32 and '33, the car was called the Essex-Terraplane, and from '34 through '37, just the Terraplane. In 1938, the marque became known as the Hudson Terraplane, and by 1939, the Terraplane disappeared forever. With that history in mind, the car pictured here, caught at the 2020 Old Schoolhouse Rocks Car Show in Superior, Montana, should be known as a 1935 Terraplane, with the understanding that Terraplane was a marque manufactured by the Hudson Motor Company. This is similar to saying that Buick is made by General Motors.
