Description
Around the turn of the 20th Century, the site seen here was a thriving seaport named Frankport. It served the building of the San Francisco Bay Area by shipping locally cut logs, most likely Cedar, to the Frank Lumber Mill in Redwood City, California. That trade ended in 1905 and shortly thereafter, nothing was left of Frankport. Just a few miles south of the Curry County town of Port Orford, this location is now home to the Three Sisters Rocks State Park. Watch closely, or you'll miss the very small turnout that gives access to the park and beach.
